Language Assessment Centres
Recognized leaders in culturally sensitive English language assessments
The Language Assessment Centres provide English language proficiency assessments to the Peel and Halton Communities as well as training on the use of the assessment tools to organizations across Ontario and Canada.
Programs Serviced
About
English language proficiencies are assessed using different assessment tools:
- the Canadian Language Benchmarks
Assessment (CLBA)
- the Canadian Language Benchmarks Literacy Assessment (CLBLA)
- the Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Tools (CLBPT)
- the Enhanced Language Training Placement Assessment (ELTPA)
Clients' English language competencies are assessed across skill areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing, as well as literacy (if required).
Trained assessors conduct the assessments by appointment only.
Clients' eligibility must be verified prior to scheduling an appointment and all fees paid in full (where applicable).
Upon assessment completion, the Assessment Centre refers the clients to appropriate partner language training institutions.

- Offer and coordinate professional development and special events
- Facilitate delivery of curriculum based on the Canadian Language Benchmarks
- Market LINC services and programs in Peel and Halton
- Refer clients to appropriate language training institutions
