Landed Immigrants and Convention Refugees have access to FREE language training instruction through Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) and Enhanced Language Training (ELT), programs funded by:
LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION FOR NEWCOMERS TO CANADA (LINC)
LINC is a language training program offered at no cost to eligible adult learners by the Government of Canada. LINC classes:
- Focus on developing speaking, reading, writing and listening skills from Literacy to Level 7
- Include computer-assisted language training
- Are offered full-time, part-time, mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends

Enhanced Language Training (ELT)
ELT programs provide advanced level English instruction.
ELT classes:
- Provide job-specific, labour market level language training to help you find and keep jobs that match your skills and qualifications
- Are particularly useful for internationally-trained professionals and trades people
- May have bridge-to-work assistance, including apprenticeship and mentorship services, work placement and other employment help
