West Coast Marine Discovery: FAQ
I don’t know anyone going, am I going to be on the plane all by myself?
No, all students and staff fly to Victoria, British Columbia on the same flight departing from Toronto Pearson Airport.
Can I room with a friend?
Yes you can. You, and the person you would like to room with, must indicate your preference on your application. Both parties must write each other’s name or your request will not be processed.
Are there laundry facilities?
Yes. Washing machines and dryers are available for $1 (quarters & loonies only) per load/cycle.
How will parents contact their child while away?
The On-Site Administration staff will have a cell phone with them for the entire trip and you will be provided with this phone # just prior to the start date of the program. We also provide contact #'s for both locations the group stay and messages can be passed on to your child. In addition, the Admin staff update their twitter (@psawestcoast) on a daily basis which is great to see what the group is doing while away.
I’ve never been out West. What do I bring?
A suggested packing list will be included in the Final Program Package that will be sent to you in June.
